About Acadia Psychotherapy
OUR VALUES
COLLABORATION
The client and therapist relationship is one that is sacred. It’s defined by respect and collaboration. We firmly believe that all clients have what it takes to heal themselves. Our clients are actively involved in their own growth.
COMPASSION
One of our main goals is to help patients be kinder to themselves. We do not view them as broken people who need fixing, but rather human beings who only need a path of support.
CONNECTION
The mind and body are connected, and so should therapy be with each other. Having a stronger focus on both can make progress much more effective. Our psychotherapists use mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic practices in addition to traditional talk therapy techniques.

OUR HISTORY
Acadia Psychotherapy was founded by Elizabeth Boudreau-Boyer, whose personal journey through a midlife divorce sparked a deep passion for mental health. Her transformative experience led her to pursue a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Drawing from both lived experience and professional expertise, Elizabeth created Acadia Psychotherapy to help others navigate healing, self-discovery, and growth in a supportive, empowering space.
WHY DID YOU NAME YOUR PRACTICE ACADIA PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Named after Elizabeth’s French Acadian-Cajun heritage, Acadia honors the resilience of the Acadian people. Despite facing exile and displacement, they rebuilt their lives with strength and determination. Acadia Psychotherapy is a reflection of that same spirit—helping individuals reclaim their emotional well-being, rise above challenges, and find healing and renewed purpose.
